St. Joseph’s School Levin

About Our School

St Joseph’s School is our parish’s vibrant Catholic primary school and the only Catholic school in Levin, welcoming families from across the township and surrounding areas. With the church, school, and presbytery located side-by-side, the school is an integral part of our wider parish community, sharing closely in our mission of faith and service.

Founded in 1920 by the Sisters of St Joseph of Nazareth, the school has a rich Josephite heritage. The Sisters fostered a close-knit community within the parish, dedicated to educating children as whole people. Today, the school continues this tradition by providing high-quality education where each child’s spiritual, physical, emotional, cultural, and academic potential is nurtured so they may become all that God intends.

As a multicultural, full-primary (Year 1–8) coeducational school, St Joseph’s promotes Christ-centred, Gospel-infused learning, grounded in the Beatitudes and the Principles of Catholic Social Teaching. Students are formed in Positive Behaviour for Living (PB4L) through the school’s S.E.R.V.E values: Service, Empathy, Resilience, Virtue, and Excellence.

Deeply connected to parish life, St Joseph’s School partners with whānau and the faith community to help shape confident, compassionate learners who live out the Josephite motto and strive to follow Christ in their daily lives.
