Divine Mercy Sunday & the Novena

Our Lord’s Divine Mercy is an abundant and endless gift available to all who embrace it, especially on the Sunday after Easter - Divine Mercy Sunday. Through the Divine Mercy Chaplet Novena, which begins on Good Friday and concludes on Divine Mercy Sunday, we are offered a powerful opportunity to start anew, pray for our loved ones, and intercede for the whole world.

In 1931, Jesus appeared to Sister Faustina Kowalska, revealing His boundless mercy and asking her to share it with others. He assured that no soul should fear approaching Him, no matter how great their sins, and entrusted her with spreading this message of hope.

Jesus asked that the Chaplet be prayed as a nine-day novena, each day offering different groups of souls to His mercy. He promised extraordinary graces to those who participate, especially through Confession and Holy Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday, granting complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.

The Chaplet is so powerful that even the most hardened sinner can receive grace by praying it with trust. Through His Passion and sacrifice, Jesus offers everyone the chance for renewal. He promised, “By this Novena (of Chaplets), I will grant every possible grace to souls.”

In Saint Faustina’s Diary entry 1731, Jesus also says, “Through the chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask is compatible with My will”. Many testimonies tell of profound conversions and even physical healings through this novena.

Our Lord also made 14 promises to those who pray His Divine Mercy Chaplet. How amazing is this! To read these 14 promises, click here.

This Good Friday, we are invited to take part in this beautiful devotion - for our own souls, for those we love, and for a world in need of mercy.

On Divine Mercy Sunday (12 April 2026), a special Mass will be held at 9:30 am, with all parishioners invited to venerate the Holy Image of the Divine Mercy. Confession will be available beforehand, and our priests warmly invite anyone with a Divine Mercy image at home to bring it for blessing on this special day.
