Urgent Call for Prayer
Dear Friends,
I’m writing with a very special prayer request.
Would you consider joining the Sisters and a small group of friends in praying a special 9 day novena we intend to start on Waitangi Day, Monday, February 7
The Cause for the Beatification of Venerable Suzanne Aubert Meri HÅhepa has reached a very critical stage and we are starting a novena praying through the intercession of St. John Vianney (known as the Curé of Ars). He is a saint who was very important in Suzanne’s life. She herself prayed for the Cause of St John and look at the result!
In the coming days and weeks, key medical advisors to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints will be reviewing the material that has been submitted to Rome to support our petition for beatification. Their approval to proceed to the next and final stage is critical for the success of this Cause.
Will you join us for this important novena? If so, please copy the special prayer below. If you have problems, please contact sr.josephine.gorman@compassion.org.nz

FITZGERALD AWARDS
Since the year 2000, the Archdiocese has honoured and acknowledged local people for their contribution to various aspects of parish life. In 2010, these awards became known as the Fitzgerald Awards, named after the prominent Catholic layman who did so much for the Church in Wellington even before we had a diocese.
Cardinal John continues this process as it is good for parish communities to commend some of our oftenunsung heroes. In consultation with the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council and Council of Priests, International Volunteers' Day on December 5th will see the presentation of Fitzgerald Awards to local parishioners.
Indeed, we are lucky to have four parishioners to receive this award: (not in order of merit)
1. Marie Carmody
2. Beverly Foubister
3. Carolyn Johns
4. Brian Nolan
Congratulations!
This award is not enough to express how thankful we are for the many years you all rendered services for the Church and the personal witness of your faith in God.
We are truly and sincerely grateful for you all. This is our simple way of recognizing your priceless and invaluable contribution to the life of the community.
